"This is where we learn about Joseph's clever plan to test his brothers," Mama Otter said. "He placed his silver cup in Benjamin's sack of grain and then accused him of stealing it before they left Egypt."
Papa Otter continued the story, "The brothers were shocked and scared. The guards searched the brothers sacks and found the silver cup in Benjamin's. They couldn't understand why Benjamin would steal from Joseph, who had been so kind to them."
Mama Otter continued, "Joseph then offered a solution. He would keep Benjamin as his slave, but the other brothers could go back home to their father Jacob. But Judah, one of Joseph's brothers, stepped forward and offered himself as a servant in place of Benjamin. Judah knew it would break his father's heart if Benjamin didn't return."
Olivia was amazed by the bravery and selflessness of Judah. Mama Otter explained, "This shows us that it's never too late to change. Judah had been one of the brothers who had sold Joseph into slavery years before, but now he was willing to give himself up to save his younger brother."
Lesson: Genesis chapter 44 teaches us there is hope for everyone to change and making sacrifices for the ones we care about, shows our love and dedication to them.
