"This chapter in our story we learn about a war that took place between several kingdoms," Mama Otter explained. "Lot, who was now living in the city of Sodom, was taken captive by the enemy."
Papa Otter continued, "Abram heard about this and gathered a group of his men to rescue Lot and bring him back home safely."
Mama Otter said, "Abram and his men were able to defeat the enemy and rescue Lot. This story shows us the bravery and courage of Abram, who was willing to risk his life to help someone in need."
Olivia asked, "What else happened in this chapter?"
Papa Otter replied, "This chapter also tells us about a man named Melchizedek, who was a priest of God. He blessed Abram and thanked God for his victory in the battle."
Mama Otter added, "This story teaches us about the importance of helping others and being grateful to God. It also shows us the faith and trust that Abram had in God."
Olivia smiled and said, "I will always try to help others and be grateful to God, just like Abram."
Papa and Mama Otter hugged Olivia and told her how proud he was of her for understanding the story and what it means.
Lesson: Genesis chapter 14 teaches us that we should trust in God's protection and provision, even in the face of danger or difficulty. Just as God was faithful to protect and provide for Abraham, He will always be with us and take care of us, no matter what challenges we may face.
